EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Sometimes known as ‘Tapping’, I came across this technique several years ago on various training courses. At first I was sceptical as to how it worked and therefore never applied it to my practice. However, I became more curious about it given the amount of positive sorties I was hearing. So I decided to train as an EFT Practitioner.
Since that time I have been blown away by how quickly this simple technique can control many aspects of feelings (physical and emotional) including negative thoughts and behaviours.

I can’t believe that just happened! said one client, when after two rounds of tapping. The agonising pain she felt just disappeared.

It’s a tool I can easily teach clients, thereby empowering them to effectively take control for themselves.

EFT has its roots in Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and is based on the theory that all negative emotion is a disruption in the bodies energy system. It belongs to under the umbrella heading of Energy Psychology.

Tapping on End Points of Acupuncture Meridians directs kinetic energy through blocked channels clearing them and removing negative emotions. It has been described as an emotional version of Acupuncture, without the needles.

It is used to help many conditions. Some of the most notable studies have been conducted by Garry Craig and Dawson Church on war veterans suffering post-traumatic stress disorder. They showed significant improvements in just six sessions.
