What is hypnosis?

In hypnosis two important things happen.

Firstly, the brain frequencies slow down to a rate that they were running at when you were between the ages of zero and six years of age. When the frequencies are running at this slower rate it optimises learning which means that new information can be absorbed more quickly and easily.

Secondly, the filter that analyses all that you hear and see is dampened down. Hypnotherapists refer to this filter as the Conscious Critical Factor (CCF). When the CCF is reduced you are more likely to accept, without question, new more desirable thoughts, feelings and information . It helps things feel easier to achieve and this makes the desired outcome of therapy more likely.

What is hypnosis like?

Often people mistakenly believe that in hypnosis one is rendered out of control. The experience itself just simply feels like an altered focus of attention. You are still very much in control and aware of your surroundings and you are not unconscious. Everyone is different but most people report feeling very, very relaxed and comfortable and may find their mind just wondering, and this is a good thing. You just allow your mind to go where ever it wants to and this is the Conscious Critical Factor is dampening down. There is essentially no right or wrong way to feel. Many people will report seeing wonderful images or experience pleasant, comfortable sensations.

Want to know more? If your interested in making changes in your life and would like to know more, you can either email me your questions or we can arrange a mutually convenient time for a 15 minute chat over the phone. Thereafter all (50 minutes to 1 hour) sessions cost £60. This excludes ‘smoking cessation’ see below for this.

What happens if I can’t keep my appointment.

Cancellation Policy

48 hours notice is required to cancel a session and this is because the consulting room has to be paid for and booked in advance of our sessions. Also late cancellations result in a lost opportunity for me to see other clients. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, failure to cancel or rearrange your appointment within the time scale results in a fee for the full amount of the session.
