Inspired by the film, ‘The Tree Lover’ (by Jonas Selberg Augustsen), founders Britta and Kent Lindvall have taken eco-luxe accommodation to new heights, into the treetops, in fact, 4-6 metres above ground.
cutting-edge design and progressive architecture rooted in respect for ecology….
Guests are asked to leave their stress along with their cars at the reception, in order to clear their minds and fully experience living in harmony with nature…It combines childlike treehouse dreams with magical views of the Lule river..
Working with some of Scandinavia’s leading architects, labour of love was always intended to be a ‘hotel in the middle of nature….on ‘nature’s terms’, with intensive research having gone into sustainable construction and energy solutions.
Each uber-imaginative tree room (which includes a giant Bird’s Nest and the Mirrorcube covered in a film that birds can see to prevent winged-collisions!) has an eco footprint as minimalist as it’s interior design, with insulation powered by local green hydroelectric power, low-energy LED lighting systems, combustion toilets (odourless) incineration or freezing in the case of the Mirrorcube.
